Upcoming Church & Family Events!
All are welcome to attend! For more information, please contact the parish office or feel free to email someone from "Our Team"

Holy Triduum: You are invited to come and journey through Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday with us. Maundy Thursday is a reminder of Christ's Last Supper with his disciples and then transitions to a service of Tenebrae. There is then a follow up prayer vigil where attendees are invited to stay and pray in the church, similar to how the disciples were invited to stay awake and pray with Christ in the garden (Mt 26:40; Mk 14:32-42). Good Friday has two services: a morning Children's Way of the Cross and a more solemn Liturgy of the Word in the afternoon. Easter Sunday celebrates the true joy of Christ's resurrection with our regular two services Sunday morning.

Holy Week Music-based Meditation: Mark 14 tells the story of Jesus setting the Passover feast with his disciples; Mark tells a unique account that says they all sang hymns before going out to the Mount of Olives on their way to the Garden of Gethsemane. In all of the Holy Week moments and transitions, this transition allowed for the disciples to sing together (before leaving the meal) and pray together (in the garden). Some would consider it a holy low for according to Mark, this is where Peter ultimately is predicted to deny Jesus. Maundy (or Holy) Thursday focuses on the Last Supper. Good Friday focuses on the Passion and death of Jesus, and Easter Sunday focuses on the resurrection. Prior to those journeys in our faith story, the people who dedicated their lives to Christ gathered to sing and pray. Let's do the same!! Join us at the church for 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 17. We will be led to sing (or sit in the presence of music) and pray. You can find out a bit more information by clicking here

Weekday Lenten Eucharist: Tuesday evenings starting on March 12, 2019, there will be services of Holy Eucharist starting at 7pm. The services are generally 45 min-hour in length and allow for time to sit in the desert during the service. All are welcome to attend. The last Eucharist in this series is Tuesday, April 9, 2019

Come to the Desert!: Jesus, after his baptism, chose to spend 40 days in the desert in which he was intentional about focussing on his relationship with God through prayer, reflection, and distance from the excitement of everyday life; you are invited to stop by St. Matthew's between 12noon and 1pm any Monday-Thursday of the Lenten season to come, sit, and reflect in the desert. There is no opening or closing, there is just a gathering of anywhere from one to six fellow "desert go-ers" who sit and reflect to themselves. You can come for five minutes or stay for 60; there are bibles available in the church if you wish to read scripture while you contemplate or you can bring a book or simply not read at all. However you journey through the Lenten 40 days, may it be a holy journey. The last opportunity to come to the desert will be Thursday, April 11, 2019.

Dear Mom! It's Almost Mother's Day! Come and join us for a mother's day out! Don't worry, you do not need to be a mother to enjoy the festivities, I'm not! Come for some sandwiches, sweets, and strawberries 'n' biscuits! We are going all out and serving it like a high tea you might find at the Empress... in the comfort and ease of travel... at St. Matthew's! Tickets for attendees who are 6 yrs old or more are only $10/piece, but act fast! We will be distributing posters to the local senior's residences as a means of outreach and community, but are only selling 60 seats/sitting. Sittings will happen from 10am-12noon and 2-4pm for Saturday, May 11, 2019. Tickets will be on sale after the 10am services starting April 7th or by contacting us here. We would really love to "tea" you there!
