  • Global Day to end Famine: Today, May 21st, has been declared the Global Day of Prayer to end Famine in the World.  Please see the bulletin board in the Narthex for more information.  To donate to PWRDF (Primate's World Relief and Development Fund) East African appeal, go to: www.pwrdf.org/donate.
  • Special Vestry Meeting: On Saturday, May 27 from Noon to 2 pm, Vestry will be meeting to begin working the practical application of our priority visioning for St. Matthew's.  At our last regular Vestry meeting, we decided that there were two areas, we believed that we, as a community needed to be more diligent about.  These areas included: 1) Active outreach to St. Matthew's senior membership and;  2) Implementing The Alpha course for the adult members of the parish community.  Vestry saw both of these areas as being critical in the immediate future of our parish story.  As members of the general congregation, it is our hope that you will become part of these exciting initiatives.  Our goal as your Vestry is to develop the plan.  So stand by for more news and keep your Vestry team in your prayers.
  • Inner City Pastoral Ministry Luncheon: A special thank you to everyone who contributed food items or volunteered their time and talents to help St. Matthew's in the hosting of the latest luncheon at the Bissell Centre, this past May 14th.
  • Diocese of Edmonton Clergy Conference:  Archdeacon Lee will be attending the Clergy Conference from Tuesday May 23 to Thursday, May 25 at the Star of the North.  For pastoral emergencies, please call the parish office and leave a detailed voice mail message.  Archdeacon Lee will be regularly monitoring voice mail.
  • The ACW are once again collecting toiletries and used clothing for the Mustard Seed.  A receptacle will be provided in the narthex of our Church through May 28th donations.  The Mustard Seed has an ongoing need year round for such items which are made available to their increasing clientele.
