  • Income Tax Receipts:  Please pick up your income tax receipt for 2016 donations to St. Matthew's.  They are located in the narthex in alphabetical order.  Please pick yours up during Coffee.  Thank you on behalf of the Rector and Corporation for your valuable support this year.
  • The Annual General Meeting will be held after the 10:00 am service next Sunday (January 29, 2017).  Your AGM booklets are available to be picked up following the service in the narthex.  Please note that on January 29, 2017, there will no 8:00 am service.  That service will resume on February 5.
  • St. Albert Food Bank: Support the Food bank by bringing in food items and placing them in the basket located in the Narthex.

Please join us for our Advent and Christmas Worship
  • Dec 24 (Christmas EVe, 4:30 pm - A Family Christmas Celebration
  • December 24 (Christmas Eve), 8:00 pm - A Candlight Christmas Eve Eucharist
  • December 25 (Christmas), 10:00 am - a Service of Holy Eucharist (no 8:00 am service)
  • Jan 1 (New Year's Day), 10:00 am - a Service of Holy Eucharist (no 8:00 am service). The 8 am service will resume on Sunday, January 8, 2017).
  • On the Four Sundays of Advent our Eucharistic celebrations will feature the lighting of the Candles of Advent.  On the Fourth.   Sunday of Advent (Dec 18), our 10:00 am service will take the form of the service of Lessons and Carols with Holy Eucharist

Youth Alpha: We are running a Youth Alpha fro Jr. & Sr. High students - never to late to join.  Join us for a short video and discussion as we learn about our faith.  For more info or to sign up please contact Rev. Colleen.

 

Gingerbread Fundraiser:  The Sunday School, Nursery, and Youth Group (SMASH) are raising money for St. Ann's Anglican School in Belize.  We invite everyone to participate by bidding in our gingerbread house silent auction.  Bidding runs until December 18.

 

Help Needed!! Do you like hanging out with children, playing with toys and making crafts and reading stories?  We need some child care providers for the Parents and Tots group that began meeting on November 22, 2016, and meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 1 to 2:30 pm.  Duties include playing with the children, engaging the children in thematic crafts and reading stories while parents have an opportunity to participate in a Bible Study.  All craft activities will provided and prepped.  If you are interested in taking part in this important ministry, please speak with Rev. Colleen.  Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this important ministry opportunity.

 

Annual General Meeting will be held after 10:00 am service on January 29, 2017.  Reports from committees and ministries within our church are due by January 15 to Peter.

  • Operation Christmas Child are available in the Narthex.  Please return boxes to the church by November 13.  Please remember no candy, no liquids or items that leak, melt or freeze, no breakable items, no items that scare or harm a child.
  • Attention parents and tots:  St. Matthew's is considering hosting a "Parents and Tots" play group.  We will provide beverages and a healthy snack, play time and crafts for kids, conversation and Bible study for adults.  For more information please speak with Rev. Colleen.

Grow in faith on a Cursillo Weekend:  Registration is now open for the 2016 Cursillo Weekend being held November 10-13 at the Star of the North Retreat Center in St. Albert.  For additional information or to obtain a registration form, please speak to Peter or Joanne following the service or visit the Edmonton Anglican Cursillo's updated website at www.edmontoncursillo.ca. Please prayerfully consider attending or inviting others to attend this interactive and experiential weekend.

  • St. Matthew Live and Silent Auction:  Will be held on Saturday, October 15 at 6:30 pm.  Mayor Nolan Crouse will serve as our Auctioneer.  You can help make this a fun and successful fundraiser by purchasing a ticket at $10.00 per person.  Also, by donating items or services for auctioning and by bidding on other items.  Wine and beer will be available for purchase.  Cheese trays fruit trays and assorted snacks will be provided.  Tickets go on sale September 11.  There is a sign up sheet for those who wish to donate items / services auctioned off.  For further information, please speak to Sue, Susan or Joanne.  Thank you for your support.

  • Fall Service Schedule:  We will be returning to our regular schedule of two Sunday services beginning, next Sunday Sept. 11, 2015 Worship services will be held at 8 am and 10 am.
  • The Women's Retreat Committee is organizing a Welcome Lunch on Sunday September 11th following the 10 am service.  Tickets are $10 per person or $25 per family.  Sandwiches, soup, fresh fruit, tea, coffee and tea will be served.  Tickets are available after the service.  A sign up sheet will be posted for those who are able to assist in this fundraiser.  Talk to Heather for further information.
